You will provide a support role for all administrative requirements for the NHS Board's responsibilities in relation to General Ophthalmic Services. You will process applications from Optometrists, Ophthalmic Medical Practitioners, Body Corporate and premises owners to enter into, terminate or amend standard General Ophthalmic Services contracts with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. You will provide advisory and facilitative management support to 500 Optometrists/OMPs, 204 Practices across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde concerning General Ophthalmic Services. Line management of staff as required. Provision of line management for taff will include recruitment, training, performance management, absence management, discipline and grievance procedures. You will be expected to gain in depth knowledge of 2 sets of General Ophthalmic regulations (General Ophthalmic Services and Optical Charges and Payments) as well as keeping abreast of current developments in Primary Health Care. You will be expected to manage your own workload and deal with conflicting · priorities using your own initiative with minimal supervision. You will be Educated to Degree level entry or have the equivalent experience in a healthcare environment, either primary or secondary care. Having the ability to deal with people at all levels and adopting a flexible approach as necessary. You should have good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Flexible working will be considered. This is a fixed term post for 12 months and the hours will worked Monday to Friday.
