Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine

Full time (10PA, including up to 2 SPA) or Part time

Salary Scale - £96,963 - £128,841 per annum (pro rata if part time)

The Department of Respiratory Medicine at Forth Valley Royal Hospital is looking to find a colleague to join our team of five experienced consultants. Having lost a number of consultants following the pandemic, we are in an exciting phase of rebuilding our service and innovating our approach to the care of patients with respiratory disease in our hospital and wider community. We are hoping to attract a dynamic individual who is keen to join a team who are passionate about developing a Respiratory Medicine service for the population of the Forth Valley that is modern, patient-focused and sustainable. The successful candidate will be part of the acute general medical rota, provide in-reach to acute medicine for specialty cases and be supported in fostering a sub-speciality interest and growing as a consultant.

You can look forward to a warm welcome and strong support from colleagues.  Our hospital is situated in the heart of Scotland, nestled against the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and close to vibrant towns that are richly endowed with excellent cultural and sporting facilities, offering good transport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the Department and meet key staff. For an informal discussion and further information regarding the opportunity and Respiratory services, please contact Dr Ronan Breen (Clinical Lead), ronan.breen@nhs.scot.

Applicants should be registered with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT at the time of interview. Applicants applying under the Portfolio pathway must be entered onto the GMC Specialist Register at time of application. Applicants are required to have evidence of recent continued academic and professional development. Excellent, communication, listening and organisational skills are essential
