This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Lothian–wide team of Clinical Scientists based across the city of Edinburgh. The Biochemistry service for Lothian is provided from 3 main hospital sites providing a comprehensive service to primary and secondary care. The service also accepts tertiary referrals for a range of specialist testing, including antenatal screening, gastrointestinal investigations, toxicology, specialist endocrinology and protein work.

You will have considerable experience of both manual and automated Clinical Biochemistry analysers and have or develop experience in HPLC, proteins and mass spectrometry. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of experience in Clinical Biochemistry. You will be expected to participate in all aspects of the service, including reporting, clinical liaison, research and development and audit.

Applications are invited from dynamic individuals with a proven scientific and professional record and the enthusiasm to work as part of a team. You should be a HCPC registered Clinical Scientist or working towards your registration, and hold an appropriate MSc in Clinical Biochemistry or a PhD in a relevant field. This post offers excellent training opportunities and you will be fully supported in your preparations for FRCPath.
