An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for the role of GP Call Handler within the Immediate Assessment Unit (IAU). You will be the direct contact for medical GP calls referring patients to the department. You will liaise with the GP and the clinical team within the IAU to support appropriate patient referral updating this information on Trakcare for all expected attendances. You will follow up with GP surgeries any patients that were expected but have not attended the unit to ensure patient safety is supported across primary and secondary care.
It is essential that you have excellent telephone and communication skills with extensive knowledge of medical terminology either in a healthcare setting or medical secretary setting. Excellent keyboard skills are required with knowledge and understanding of Trakcare desirable.
The post is for 6 months and is Monday to Friday 1000 – 1800 hrs.
