West Dunbartonshire seeks to recruit Advanced Nurse Practitioners, or experienced Band 6 nurses who are keen to develop their existing clinical knowledge and skills to become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in General Practice. This is an exciting new role within our HSCP, and has been developed with our GP partners as a component of the new GP contract, under the West Dunbartonshire HSCP Primary Care Implementation Plan. These nurses will be employed by the HSCP and work closely with and in our GP practices to deliver unscheduled care within General Practice, enhancing the delivery of partnership working. You will be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner, and the Job Description should be fully read to inform the breadth and depth of skills and also the opportunities that this role brings to developing your nursing career. The role allows for full ownership of the complete clinical care of your patients, utilising an expert knowledge base and extensive clinical competencies, and also offers in reach with the multi-professional teams within West Dunbartonshire HSCP, and across other relevant partners in care e.g. Acute Services. If you do not currently have the ANP PgD, the HSCP will support you through the ANP qualification (the successful candidates will be trainee ANP’s at Band 6 until qualified, moving to Band 7 on qualification), with identified GP practices ready to act as training practices throughout the 2 year PgD. We are committed to this role, and will provide regular clinical supervision and close team working with the Senior Nurse, Nurse Team Leaders and GP’s in the training practices to ensure that staff are supported and nurtured to their full potential. The hours of this post are 37.5 hours per week, mainly worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30 am and 6pm; however there may be a requirement to work over weekends and public holidays.
