An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forth Valley Stroke Transition and Rehabilitation Team (START). Established in 2021, START is a community based MDT treating Stroke patients in their home environment. The team provides an essential function in supporting the early discharge of patients from the hospital bed base; ensuring safe and effective transition of care and supporting patients ongoing journey.

As a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist you will provide Occupational Therapy clinical leadership and expertise within the START team, working closely with colleagues across the inpatient Stroke service and the wider community rehabilitation teams. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will help implement the AHP ambitions within the progressive stroke pathway for patients in Forth Valley. The successful applicant will provide direct patient care, have specialist clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision making skills, they must be passionate in the provision of rehabilitation and improving the lives of people living with stroke and their families. The successful applicant must have experience in service development and quality improvement.

The applicant should posses the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads and be flexible in a busy environment. The service is based in Falkirk Community Hospital and covers the whole of Forth Valley so the successful candidate will have the ability to travel area wide. There will be a requirement to work closely with colleagues in the bed bases of Forth Valley Royal Hospital and the Bellfield Centre.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
