You will provide practical support to the unit adhering to standards set at local level and competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group. You will ensure the effective delivery of nursing care is provided to patients and that an acceptable standard is maintained. You will have completed the National incremental Competencies in Healthcare Education (NiCHE) Profile designed to structure the Induction, Orientation and Development of Health Care Support Workers.
As part of a multidisciplinary team you will provide care to patients in support of the trained nurse and will regularly work unsupervised. You will provide a high quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for patients within the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit meeting the identified physical and psychological needs. You will assist patients with activities of daily living. You will provide a care environment that is fit for its intended purpose and support the delivery of patient care as defined by the context, purpose and philosophy of the Healthcare Team to which they contribute. You should have experience working within a caring environment and an SVQ qualification or working towards one. The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday doing core shifts but flexible for the needs of clinical in other sites.
