Band 3 Health Care Support Worker- iCare- Fixed Term- variable hours 2 years
As a Health Care Support Worker working within the iCare team - you will provide respite support to the families of children and young people with complex healthcare needs and life limiting conditions at home and in the community. This will involve undertaking a range of delegated care within an agreed competency framework and care plan.On completion of a training programme, you will provide safe and effective care in child’s own home or other community setting, providing on-going respite care for the families.Although no formal qualifications are required, previous experience of working with children is desirable. It is essential that you can display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an understanding of the diverse and sometimes distressing nature of the duties involved. You will support families by meeting the emotional, physical and social needs of the child while also respecting the families’ confidentiality and work within staff- client boundaries. You should have the ability to work independently and be willing to develop new skills. A good standard of written English is required for report writing, basic maths and a driving licence are also desirable. This is a fixed term variable hours post for 2 years.
