The role of the HR Manager is to assist in the provision of a proactive and comprehensive HR generalist service to the managers and staff in the Health and Social Care Partnerships, Acute Division, Corporate and Property & Support Services departments.  To provide expert advice on employment matters including terms & conditions, employment law and management of change.  To manage and develop a small team of HR staff.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

A first degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management

A member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development

Experience at relevant senior HR level

A detailed specialist knowledge of the range of HR issues, policies, procedures, employment legislation etc.

Experience of managing change.

Can evidence planning, organising and delivering within timescale allocated projects/specific workload.

Has initiative and confidence in own abilities.

Ability to work autonomously, identify problems, risk assess and apply innovative solutions based on knowledge and experience.

Ability to balance conflicting demands and with the pressure that is incurred.

Hold a current and valid driving licence.

Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), influencing and PC skills, with the ability to prioritise and adapt to the ever changing needs of the service.
