The role is strategic and operational, providing professional leadership, and influencing future service delivery in University Hospital Hairmyres (UHH) and across NHS Lanarkshire.  The post holder is the professional lead for nursing across UHH, ensuring standards of clinical practice, patient centred care and workforce development are in place to maximise the impact of nursing on service change and quality improvement.


You will work closely with the Site Director and the Chief of Medical Services in providing visible leadership at both a site and NHS Lanarkshire level.


To contribute to the clinical, financial and staff governance arrangements ensuring safe, efficient and effective care, compatible with professional and national clinical standards.


Contribute to the corporate management of the Directorate, and assists the Divisional Director in achieving the Executive Directorate's objectives.


Registered Nurse/Midwife with valid NMC Registration.


Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.


Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework.


Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development.


Professional leadership and managerial experience within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
