The NHS Scotland Pharmaceuticals ‘Specials’ Service is based in a purpose built new facility on the Ninewells campus in Dundee. This Service will be the national specialist centre for pharmaceutical manufacture within NHS Scotland and will be supported by its own QA, purchasing, storage, distribution and sales functions. In addition, the Service will manufacture Investigational Medicinal Products for clinical trials conducted within Scottish hospitals and Universities and other research centres.
A new opportunity has arisen to work in this state of the art national facility as follows:-
Production Pharmacist
Band 7*
Salary Scale £37,570 - £44,688
You will assist in ensuring that the Production Department operates in compliance with the standards of GMP. You will assess the clinical and pharmaceutical suitability of requests from customers for unlicensed medicines, participate in product and process development and will give technical advice where appropriate.
You must have considerable post qualification pharmacy practice experience and be enthusiastic and organised. You should possess the ability to use your professional judgement and skills, whilst at times, working under pressure.
Applications are welcomed from General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registered Pharmacists who can demonstrate a high level of professional practice and discretion.
*Applications are welcomed from Pharmacists who meet the majority of the essential criteria. Successful applicants in this position would be employed as a Band 6 until they achieve the experience to be moved into a Band 7 post.
Although full time hours would be preferable, part time applicants are welcomed.
