Job Advert

We are looking to recruit a number of clinical pharmacists to deliver the pharmacotherapy service of the Scottish GP Contract and to provide clinical pharmacy input to other primary care services. We are keen to hear from people who would wish to work on either a part time or full time basis. We can offer flexi-working. We have opportunities available in locations across the Highland area.

You will have relevant experience of pharmacy practice, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and good IT skills. Successful applicants will work with GP practices as part of a multi-professional practice team to optimise quality, evidence-based and cost-effective use of medicines. The role of the clinical pharmacist is developing into a clinical, patient facing role.

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join us. You will join an established, forward thinking pharmacy team responsible for delivering high quality medicines management and clinical pharmacy input to a range of primary care settings. NHS Highland pharmacy teams are renowned for implementing new and innovative ways of working and for developing the roles and responsibilities of pharmacy staff.

You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council. You should have a relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience. Ideally you will be an independent prescriber or be willing to undertake this. NHS Highland is committed to the professional development of its staff. There will be opportunities for further training and education as the new pharmacotherapy service evolves.

The post will involve travelling to a number of locations Highland so a full, current driving licence and use of own car for work purposes is essential.
