The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) Perinatal Mental Health Service {PMHS) aims to provide assessment and management of women who are at risk of, or who experience, significant mental disorder while pregnant or within the first postnatal year. The service also prioritises the needs of the infant, other children, and partners of mothers with mental illness. The community and maternity liaison services are board-wide. The inpatient mother and baby unit {MBU) has a regional remit for the West of Scotland. The service is based at Leverndale Hospital but provides outreach on a number of sites throughout GGC. You will provide strategic, professional and clinical leadership and consultancy in nursing practice across the spectrum of perinatal mental health within perinatal mental health services across NHSGG&C, and the Regional West of Scotland in-patient service, whilst also contributing to and influencing National advances and developments in the clinical field. You will work collaboratively across boundaries with partner providers of health and social care to provide a seamless approach to patient care, treatment and recovery across the spectrum of Perinatal Mental Illness.  You will provide a lead role in conjunction with the specialist services manager in maximising the contribution that values and evidence based nursing makes to the patient journey  in the areas of:- expert clinical practice, professional leadership and consultancy, education, teaching and research, practice and service development & evaluation.  You will work as a expert clinician in the field and exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy, have an ability to reach complex and critical judgements and have decision making skills to satisfy the expectations and demands of the job, whilst also working as part of the NHSGG&C specialist perinatal mental health service.  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC and that you have a higher degree - Masters or working towards Masters Degree or PhD.  You should have substantial experience working at a Band 7 or above.  You should have advanced nursing practice such as non medical prescribing, accredited psychological therapy qualification.  The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 9.00am -5.00pm.
