Over recent years NHS Tayside has committed to increased investment in the Area Psychological Therapies Service. The Service now has a complement of around 160 clinical and applied staff with an additional 20 trainees. The Department provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment in which to work. Opportunities exist for involvement in teaching and research, taking advantage of close links with Universities of Dundee and Stirling. Members of the Department also contribute to the supervision and training of trainees on the Edinburgh/East and South of Scotland Clinical Teaching Course, the Universities of Stirling and Dundee MSc Course and the Child course.


The NHS Tayside Clinical Health Psychology Service has a wide remit and provides services to the General Health Psychology speciality, Dundee Dental Hospital, Exceptional Referral Protocol Service, Blood Born Virus Service, Bariatric Surgery Service and Scottish Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service. The NHS Tayside Pain Service aims to help patients living with symptoms of chronic pain to improve their functional performance, enhance self management strategies and achieve the best quality of life.


The Clinical Health Psychology Service and Pain Service are pleased to invite applicants to this newly established post. The post holder will join the multidisciplinary Pain Service Team to help establish provision of a highly specialist psychological therapy service within the Pain Service. This post offers excellent opportunities for participation in service development and multidisciplinary team working. The post holder would be expected to be flexible and be able to work effectively within a team setting. There are also excellent opportunities for CPD, research, and collaborative work with enthusiastic colleagues.
