An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Occupational Therapist (speciality of Orthopaedics/ Surgical based at uh Wishaw) as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will manage own specialist caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings. Provide specialist advice to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines / agencies. The post holder is expected to develop specialist clinical skills and may lead clinical audit and undertake research.
Duties may vary depending on the care group / department / assigned area of work or level of experience.
The successful candidate must be a registered occupational therapist with valid HCPC registration, educated to/working towards/operating at degree level with post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. A comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
The post holder will possess excellent leadership and team-working skills, and have the ability to motivate others while working using their own initiative
Effective time management, excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is a working knowledge of basic information technology.
