This is a challenging opportunity to help harness the buying power of more than £2.4 billion spent each year across the NHS in Scotland. PCF, the Procurement Centre of Expertise for Health, works in collaboration with Health Boards to ensure the highest level of patient care through the provision of a wide range of goods and services via a series of best value National Contracts and Distribution Services.

Knowledgeable in strategic procurement you will support the implementation of PCF strategies, whilst managing supplier relationships to ensure the effective and on-going delivery of best value contracts.  Using your procurement skills and through acquiring specialised product knowledge, you will provide customers with excellent product choice and quality whilst contributing to both the logistics and strategic sourcing programme targets. The post will fill a vacancy supporting the sourcing of product commodities required by NHS Scotland and supplied through the Logistics work stream of NSS PCF. With this in mind we are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge and procurement experience of Healthcare Products and Services in a Supply Chain environment.  

The post holder should be educated to higher level with demonstrable experience in strategic sourcing including programme implementation and supplier management. The post holder should also possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
