The Post:

The Intermediate Community Therapy Team (ICT) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Rehabilitation Support Worker (RSW) into ICT.

The Team supports discharges from hospital, prevents admissions to Hospital and provides rehabilitation in patients/service users own home, thereby regaining independence.

The Team work closely with colleagues in Health and Social services and the voluntary sector.

The Candidate:

The RSW will provide, with guidance, a highly varied range of support across therapy disciplines.

The successful applicant:-

  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working directly with patients/service users in the Health and Social care setting
  • Be able to work single-handedly and as part of a Team
  • Hold a SVQ III in Health and Social care, HNC or equivalent
  • Have proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Be willing to embrace the rehabilitation/re-enablement ethos and undertake further training and education as required

It is essential that the post holder has access to transport and if driving themselves, should hold a full driving licence. If by virtue of a disablement, an applicant has the qualifications to perform the post but cannot drive, then the possibility of adjustments to arrange transport will be considered.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration:

The ICT provide a seven day service and the RSW must be willing to work shifts across the seven days and have use of their own vehicle for community visits

This post will be based at The Balfour

The successful candidate will work: Part Time 36 hours per week and Relief Opportunities

This post is on a Permanent and Relief basis

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.
