NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

In Moray we do things a bit differently. We’re different because we focus on relationships across the traditional boundaries of care to provide high quality, proactive, person-centred care. We’re different because we’re small enough that things are efficient and direct, but big enough that you have robust support and access to everything you need. We’re different because clinicians influence and lead on developing models of care that serve our population.

We’re different because we value you as a professional and can be flexible in developing a job for you that allows you to explore your professional interests, deliver good care, and respects your work-life balance.

We’re different because you can work and live in a beautiful and thriving corner of Scotland, with world-class leisure pursuits, welcoming people, and a great quality of life.

Applications are invited for Acute and General Internal Medical Consultant posts to join a well-established multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for colleagues who are passionate about improving the care of acutely unwell medical patients as part of a dynamic and forward thinking team.

We are developing a bespoke front door model at Dr Gray’s Hospital with strong, integrated community links. The current redesign of ED, General Medicine and Ambulatory Emergency Care gives an exciting opportunity to play a full part in creating and crafting a new and emergent high quality service.

Central to the role is participation in the Acute Medicine on call rota and care for medical inpatients. Sub-specialty interests will be welcomed with the potential for work across the primary/secondary care interface and regional working opportunities with specialist services in Aberdeen.

Innovation is greatly supported as we work to deliver safe and effective care to our remote and rural population.

We value your non-clinical time, and we particularly encourage interest in teaching, mentoring and quality improvement.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.

CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration is awarded. Those with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.

Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made. Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR or Portfolio Pathway Specialist Registration can be made to the GMC.

If you are interested in joining the team at Dr Gray’s we would be delighted to invite you to visit the Hospital and speak to our Clinicians about the work of the department as well as an insight to the recreational activities in the surrounding area.
