We are seeking a Stakeholder Relations Senior Manager to join our Marketing and Communications team within NHS National Services Scotland (NSS).


The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the NSS strategy by leading the development of the external stakeholder elements of the communication strategy.


The post holder will lead and manage the Stakeholder Relations team, whose remit is to raise public awareness and understanding of the services provided by NSS and develop appropriate strategies and plans to establish, build and protect a positive reputation for NSS, creating confidence amongst partner organisations.


With responsibility for providing specialist communication and reputation management advice to internal and external stakeholders, the post holder will manage the organisation’s media relations and social media approach, ensuring that the full range of external stakeholder communications are clear, accessible, effective and timely.


The pace and volume of work, particularly in connection with media support, can be considerable and requires careful handling of complex and contentious issues. There is a requirement to provide an out of hours media service.


We are looking for a leader with proven relationship building skills who is reliable and enthusiastic, with the ability to work well under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines while dealing with persistent interruptions on urgent issues. 


Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
