An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Senior Buyer (Equipment & Contracts) within the Capital Equipment and Equipping Team, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde has a trade spend with third party suppliers of over £635m with the Procurement Department providing a comprehensive procurement and logistics service for all Health Board functions.

This includes strategic sourcing and advice to improve effectiveness and value for money on all expenditure for goods, services and works.


The Role

The Capital Equipment and Equipping Team provides a professional equipment and maintenance procurement service to all NHSGG divisions, including purchasing, storage, and distribution, legal requirements, project management services and procurement management data.

The post holder reports to the NHSGG&C Commercial Tender Manager for Capital Equipment & Contracts.

The post holder will work for procurement on maintenance contract renewals and equipment purchasing across small, medium and large-scale equipping projects, replacement equipping via national frameworks and tendering/mini-comps, all while delivering value for money for the board.

We are seeking professional candidates who are educated to degree level or equivalent experience in procurement/buying/operational roles and will consider those who hold or are working towards a professional/postgraduate qualification in Procurement and Supply (minimum CIPS Level 4 Diploma) or working towards, who can demonstrate proficiency and expertise in the field of procurement and purchasing and within a large scale, multi-disciplinary environment.
