We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic first level registered mental health nurses for our rural mental health ward at Bonar Bridge. You will join our small team of dedicated and committed staff; At times you may be asked to support our elderly care ward at the same hospital.
Strathy Ward is our 12 bedded older adult mental health unit which mainly acts as a dementia assessment unit supported by consultants in older adult psychiatry. The Unit provides assessment to patients Highland wide and you will be liasing and working with the wider integrated teams.
It would be desirable to have experience of working within older adult mental health services but consideration will be given to candidates with the desired knowledge and skills working in other areas within mental health services. We would also welcome applications from newly qualified nurses and those who may wish to return to practice.
NHS Highland is committed to the integration of its health and social services and candidates must demonstrate experience of team working and the ability to communicate with all social and care agencies as liaison and post discharge follow up is an integral part of the role.
In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/Deputy Charge Nurse, the post holders may be required to provide cover to ensure effective operation of the clinical area. Commitment to continuing personal development is also essential.
Although these are permanent full-time posts , working 12 hour shifts on rotational day/night contracts, covering a 7-day rota as required, we will consider part-time and Job-share candidates.
