As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development biomedical research and donor / clinical services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.


The SNBTS Better Blood Transfusion Team promote the safe, effective and appropriate use of blood across NHS Scotland.  We are looking for two enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people to join the team as a Transfusion Support Assistant (TSA). The TSA performs an administrative support role for a regional team of band 7 transfusion practitioners.  The post holder will be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, be numerate and literate. The ability to demonstrate good time management and administrative skills, show initiative and be able to work effectively as part of a small team is essential.


Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
