An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to engage with working age to older adults experiencing both acute and severe and enduring mental health problems. This is a newly developed post covering Caithness east and west across community and acute settings where necessary, therefore the post holder should have sufficiently broad experience and skills to confidently address a variety of mental health disorders and appropriate occupation focused rehab approaches. The successful candidate will require working autonomously demonstrating enhanced skills in clinical risk assessment/ management, enabling ethos and positive risk taking. They will also be expected to work closely with the community mental health and local Occupational Therapy team sharing expertise and building sustainable working networks, with a client centred focus


The successful candidate will be HCPC registered Occupational Therapist. A degree or equivalent specialist knowledge is required. Sufficient band 5/community post registration experience with working age/older adults is required with the post-holder experienced at providing evidence based interventions for the full range of mental health problems. Experience in community mental health is preferred but consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate they have the transferrable skills and experience to work autonomously within a remote and rural area.


This is a full-time permanent post of 37.5 hours per week to be worked in accordance with service requirements and in agreement with your line manager.
