The Lothian Eating Disorders Service is a well established multi disciplinary outpatient and community Eating Disorders Service. The service is based in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital but there are also opportunities for satellite clinics throughout Lothian and for community and home visiting. The service supports patients with a wide range of eating disorder presentations including those who have severe and/or enduring difficulties that require a multi disciplinary approach. The post-holder’s primary focus will be to provide holistic mental and physical health assessment, treatment and support for those with complex needs. This will include supporting safe and effective inpatient admission and discharge to the Regional Eating Disorder Unit at St John’s Hospital, Livingston, acute psychiatric admission and general medical admissions. There are also opportunities to contribute to formal psychological interventions, groups and family/carers support. A specific interest in and experience with the specialty will be most welcome but we are also committed to providing the training and supervision required for the post holder to develop and progress within the specialty.
