Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) forms part of the Procurement, Commissioning and Facilities Strategic Business Unit of NHS National Services Scotland.  We provide operational guidance and support to NHS Scotland healthcare bodies on all facilities topics.  We deliver and co-ordinate effective advice and support in relation to national facilities, equipping and technical matters which support and improve health and well-being services.


We require a new Project Manager/Product Specialist. In this post you will be involved in a number of new ongoing healthcare developments. 

Your role, working in conjunction with the Senior Product specialists, other Project Managers and the wider team will be two fold,


1.    To act as a Project Manager on a range of equipping projects. Manage all equipping project related activities such as scheduling, costing, specifying, purchasing, delivery and cost control elements of all projects.
2.    To act as a Product Specialist providing specialist technical advice on medical equipment and non medical equipment utilized in healthcare facilities.


Provision of advice and assistance to customers regarding equipment and liaison with suppliers and other internal sections on a regular basis are other key features of the post.


Educated to degree level in a technical, scientific or business/commercial subject and relevant post graduate qualification or equivalent experience in capital equipping and/or project management. 


The role requires proven specialist knowledge in hospital planning and design, and knowledge of regulations and standards relating to healthcare equipment procurement. The post holder will also require knowledge of project management methodologies and will have excellent organisational, communication and IT skills.


The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout Scotland, which on occasion requires overnight stays; therefore a clean driving license is desirable.


Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
