Fixed term from 5 August 2020 for 12 months

Full time - 40 hrs

 

Salary Scale - £32,961 - £51,828 per annum

Applications are invited from trainee doctors having recently completed or about to finish either UK Foundation Programmes or Core Surgical Training to apply for the position of Clinical Development Fellow (CDF) in Surgery, Trauma + Orthopaedics, and surgical specialties.


This exciting post will work in the surgical specialties including General Surgery and Orthopaedics at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.   In addition, as a CDF, you will have protected 6 hours per week of development time and 2 hours of in-house training. Remaining period will be distributed between clinical work in Surgery or Trauma + Orthopaedics on ward, clinic and theatre, acute receiving both in and out hours. There will be an opportunity to gain additional experience in another speciality of choice on negotiation with base team and destination team.


The appointment will be on a fixed term and full-time basis (40 hrs) and remuneration will be determined by the pay and conditions of hospital medical and dental staff (NHS Circular: PCS (DD) 2019/1).


The surgical specialties in Forth Valley Royal Hospital provides acute services covering general surgery (including breast and vascular surgery), trauma and orthopaedics, urology, ENT, OMFS and ophthalmology.

 

These services function as fully integrated units with all members contributing to a team-based approach to patient care and this appointment will play an important role in the continuing development and redesign of clinical pathways and service redesign.
