We are delighted to announce we are recruiting to an exciting Modern Apprenticeship – Electrical Engineering role within NHS Lothian.  These roles will be working within NHS Lothian Estates Department and will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for maintaining, repairing, operating and testing a range of plant and equipment necessary for the provision of a safe, efficient and compliant service to healthcare locations across the Lothians.

To be considered for the Modern Apprenticeship programme candidates must be between 16-24yrs of age and hold a National 5 or above in English and Mathematics as well as one other science or technical subject.  In addition to this we are also interested in your values, attitude and ability to learn and how this will enable you to become a valued member of our team.

Candidates who are successful in interview will be expected to start in your new role on Monday 31st August 2020 with education within college commencing in September 2020.


 *Please note this is a Trainee post, therefore Annex U applies*

For trainees covered by Annex U where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:

  • up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
  • more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified;
  • more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
  • more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
