Are you a GP who wants to support the future of Primary Care?


An exciting NEW opportunity, for the right GP, has become available in NHS National Services Scotland.


The post holder will lead, support and advise our Primary Care Targeted Support Programme and Information Services for Primary Care in Scotland.


We are looking for a highly motivated GP who can envision a future of primary care multi-disciplinary teams providing high quality care supported by excellent intelligence and infrastructure and who wants to play a key role in our organisation to make that vision a reality in Scotland. 


This post has been created to provide clinical and operational leadership for key aspects of the delivery of the Primary Care Targeted Support Programme and data and intelligence services provided by NSS /Information Services Division.  The role will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic direction and policy, building and maintaining deep partnerships with leaders in NHS Scotland, Scottish Government and partner organisations to ensure that products and services are in line with stakeholder priorities. 


The post holder will be responsible for 1. clinical advice, operational leadership, engagement and impetus for aspects of the Primary Care Targeted Support Programme. Expected time commitment is 60% of overall for this element of the role 2. clinical advice to and impetus and drive for current and future Primary Care products in the Public Health & Intelligence (PHI) business unit within NSS (and the Public Health Body as it comes to fruition). Expected time commitment is 40% of overall for this element of the role.


The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure check. 


Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
