Health Protection Scotland (HPS) works in partnership to deliver health protection services which enable and support a safer and healthier Scotland.
We are seeking 1 permanent and 1 fixed term Healthcare Scientist Practitioner to work in the Antimicrobial Resistance & Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) Group. The post will be across the group which includes; Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) surveillance, Antimicrobial Use and Resistance and Infection Control.
Generally, the post holder will be required to support consultants, programme leads or senior nursing and scientific staff in the provision of specialised information, advice and support to stakeholders. They will assist in the development of a specialised epidemiological knowledge base to underpin a number of health protection programmes of work. This will include the analysis, interpretation and presentation of epidemiological and surveillance data and participation in relevant research activities. The post holders will provide support to the ARHAI Group and collaborate with other HPS groups involved in this area.
You will be educated to degree level in a scientific or clinical subject. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, knowledge of HPS and the Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infections issues and threats for NHS Scotland would be advantageous.
Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
