Job Advert

This post will suit newly qualified clinical/counselling psychologists (Band 7), or more experienced psychologists (Band 8a) who are eligible to supervise trainees.

Together with a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will work within a small multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Veterans First Point (V1P) Service in Fife. The V1P Fife service offers social and mental health support to military veterans with a range of needs, and the post holder will provide a highly specialist psychology service for veterans with mental health difficulties who use the service. The post-holder will provide assessment and treatment of veterans with complex mental health difficulties, as well as training, clinical supervision and case consultancy to NHS Fife and multi-agency colleagues working in services across NHS Fife.

You will join the Fife Psychology Service: a large (102 w.t.e. clinical staff) multi-specialty service, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development.  Close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D.Clin.Psych. and MSc courses continue and professional development, CPD and service-based research activity is well supported. You will take an active part in the Area Psychology Service, seeking opportunities for professional development and contributing to the development of others.  The post will be based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline and the V1P base in Cardenden.  It is likely that this post will be extended after the 31st March 2021.

Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.
