We are seeking to recruit qualified, highly motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join our team based at University Hospital Wishaw. The postholder will be part of a technical team who rotate between Dispensaries and Procurement. This is an exciting time for Wishaw as we introduce HEPMA therefore we require enthusiastic candidates.
Public holiday and weekend service commitments are included in this post.
2 posts are permanent and one further post is to cover a period of maternity leave until June 2021.
The role of the Pharmacy Technician is to provide pharmaceutical technical services within all sections of the pharmacy department to patients attending or admitted to the hospital. To ensure the accurate, efficient and timely supply of discharge / out patient prescriptions, pharmaceutical stock and non-stock supplies to wards and departments.
The sucessful candidate must have a National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
SVQ Level III, and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council , showing continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council (mandatory requirement)
Experience in dispensing discharge / OPD / in-patient prescriptionsand providing a ward/department stock top-up
Understanding of hospital pharmacy services
Computer skills/key board skills
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to organise and prioritise work / Team player
Participation in weekend and public holiday working
