Molecular Microbiology/Virology, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

Biomedical Scientist (Trainee/New Registrant) 3 posts

Applications are invited for the post of Biomedical Scientist (Trainee/New Registrant) within the Department of Molecular Microbiology/Virology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE).

The successful applicant may work at the RIE with BMS and Clinical Scientist staff to provide a Molecular Microbiology service.  This will involve communication with medical and scientific colleagues. The post-holder will also participate in the development of new services in accordance with the requirements of the department and will be expected to participate in the delivery of other services within Molecular Diagnostics.

The post is based in the Molecular Microbiology/Virology department in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.  Participation in the full 24/7 shift working system (including weekends) will be expected.

Applicants should have the appropriate state registered BSc (hons) Biomedical Science degree or similar to allow registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
