This is a fixed term post for 18 months.



The Northern Alliance Advanced Therapy Treatment Centre (NAATTC), is a consortium of twenty industry, NHS and academic organisations led by and the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS).  The purpose of the centre is to develop the systems and infrastructure required to support the delivery of cell and gene therapies with the ultimate aim of increasing patient access to advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) on a national level.


The ATMP Lead Research and Clinical Nurse Coordinator role has responsibility to engage with health-care professionals, patients, commercial and other research partners across a range of scientific and clinical disciplines, to promote and deliver the clinical service of AT(I)MP delivery to patients.  They will provide support to enable NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHS GGC) to fulfil strategic goals within the NAATTC via representation on the NAATTC Trial Coordination Group, NHS GGC NAATTC Operational Group, relevant research committees, and public speaking at events and media and policy/public affairs interface.  This post will be a key role in providing coordination for the clinical delivery of AT(I)MPs to patients requiring treatment.  You will also provide leadership, education and support to delivering AT(I)MPs in NHS GGC as part of a multi-disciplinary team and represent the Healthboard as part of NATTCC and other allied networks such as Experimental Cancer Medicines Centre and the UK Clinical Research Facility Network. 


You will work closely with the Bone Marrow Transplant clinical teams and GCRF Education and Quality Team to develop and maintain an AT(I)MP training programme, education events and Standard Operating Procedures.


You will report to the GCRF Lead Nurse and work under the guidance of the NHS GGC NAATTC representatives.


Minimum requirements

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline;
  • Registered Nurse with substantial post registration experience;
  • Significant experience in a relevant senior nurse role;
  • Hold or are working towards an appropriate post registration Masters degree level qualification or equivalent;
  • Prior research experience in the NHS, academia or healthcare technology /pharmaceutical industry;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical trials and regulatory standards and compliance requirements (GCP);
  • Ability to communicate sensitive and complex information;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Advanced facilitation and organisational skills;
  • Financial and project management skills would be desirable.
