EMERGENCY MEDICAL PRACTITIONER

Full time (40 hours per week) / Part Time – Hours Negotiable

Salary Scale - £81,309 - £92,924 per annum (pro rata as appropriate)

NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Emergency Medical Practitioner colleague based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The successful applicant will join a permanent medical staff team of 10 Emergency Medicine Consultants, 4 Emergency Medical Practitioners and 5 Specialty Doctors.


NHS Forth Valley is undergoing a period of dynamic change in relation to the organisation of Emergency & Urgent Care as part of an ongoing programme of modernisation and improvement in relation to unscheduled care.


NHS Forth Valley provides acute services for a population of approximately 310,000 people in Central Scotland. Acute services, emergency and complex care, and planned services are provided for at Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH)

Applicants will be expected to have at least 4 years post registration experience which must include a completed GP training programme and considerable experience in emergency medicine. You will most likely hold the MRCGP (UK) or equivalent, be registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) for General Practitioners or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT at the time of interview or have a certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CEGPR).


For interested candidates, the opportunity for supported progression through a CESR in Emergency Medicine would be considered. This may include periods of secondment in related specialties including Anaesthetics, Intensive Care Medicine, Acute Medicine and Paediatrics according to individual competency requirements.
