Who We Are 
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland, with responsibility of developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland.
 
This post provides experienced administrative support for the Faculty Development Support Unit (FDSU).  The FDSU is a single managed unit within the professional development (PD) workstream of the medical directorate of NES which is responsible for four distinct areas of work: 
•    the provision of training for postgraduate medical trainers at an entry level and for continuous professional development
•    leadership and management training 
•    Recognition of Trainers  
•    Approved Medical Practitioner training for Psychiatrists 


What you'll do 

Key tasks will include but are not restricted to;
•    Organise and co-ordinate meetings, conferences and training events; this can include preparation of papers, minute taking, booking venues, liaising with faculty and participants, arranging catering, travel and accommodation as required.   
•    Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of high-quality administrative processes and procedures which support the range of activities undertaken by the Faculty Development Support Unit.
•    Maintain the accuracy of databases and spreadsheets as required and produce and disemminate routine reports as directed.  
•    Compile and monitor financial information in relation to FDSU activities. 
•    Upload and maintain information and materials on the NES website or intranet. 
•    Administrative support and diary management for Line Manager


What you'll bring

These will include but are not restricted to;

•    HNC in Business Administration or equivalent experience
•    A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (eg Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) 
•    Demonstrable experience in an office administrator role.
•    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
•    Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with challenging communication situations in a professional manner
•    Excellent organisational skills
