We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team of pharmacists and technicians providing a high standard of pharmaceutical care.  The post holder will be based in the busy pharmacy department at Caithness General Hospital and will assist in the management of stock, dispensing of prescriptions, reception duties and maintenance of a clean, safe and secure work environment, with a particular focus on vaccine campaigns.

 The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as a positive and flexible attitude to working within a small team.  Previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy is preferred as is a Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and S/NVQ3 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).  Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician is essential.

The post is a development opportunity and could progress to an Accrediated Checking Technician role due to potential future opportunities.  We are also looking to review this role to being more ward-based, with clinical training for the right candidate.

 This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week to be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday. Weekend working will be required during the Covid epidemic. This post is fixed term for 1 year.
