Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.  
We are looking for a friendly, confident and outgoing senior nurse to provide clinical leadership for the delivery of quality-nursing care for the Clinical Apheresis Unit based at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. You will lead the team develop and deliver plasma exchange, blood stem cell harvesting and other therapeutic services.  Strong communication skills, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.  Experience in therapeutic apheresis is desirable however relevant training can be given but experience in a closely related field such as Haematology or Renal nursing would be advantageous.
This post is primarily based at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary; it also includes provision of a peripatetic service to support in-patient apheresis procedures in the Edinburgh area and on occasion the national apheresis service in particular the Glasgow area.  The hours are 08:00 – 16:15 Monday – Friday. Following training you would be expected to participate in the Clinical Apheresis Unit on call service, (currently 1 in 5) to assist in the provision of an “out of hours” service for urgent and emergency procedures.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency
