This post is Fixed Term until 31/03/2022.

The Public Health Service Manager will be accountable for the operational and strategic management of the service including responsibility for performance, resources and activity.

In general the post holder will:

•   Provision of managerial input into Public Health Service strategic structure and development of future Public Health Strategy.

•  Through the line management structure will direct and lead staff members across a range of professions and disciplines taking responsibility for service performance, service quality, recruitment, appraisal, continuing professional development and all aspects of staff governance.

•  In addition to Directorate business, the Service Manager, directed by the Director of Public Health Services, is expected to work on a range of Public Health specific and NHSL wide issues.

Additional Information Specific to the Role:

The specific role of this post will:

•  Lead the strategic and operational delivery of the Public Health Service including NHS Lanarkshire Covid-19 Test and Protect (T&P) Programme. 

•  Lead and implement a consistent, integrated and effective approach to align the T&P Programme with the national strategy, and ensure delivery of a professional health protection clinical service across NHS Lanarkshire.

•  Work as part of the Public Health Directorate senior management team to plan and deliver the annual business objectives and Public Health strategy.

• Work closely with the Head of Health Protection to ensure the effective delivery of key aspects of health protection such as communicable disease and infection control, emergency planning and management outbreaks of disease.

Please note :The base for this post will be Kirklands Hospital but will also invole home working.
