The core purpose of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Scotland.  In support of this, we are committed to a range of programmes that will enhance the service provided to NHS Scotland in bother clinical and operational areas.

An opportunity has arisen for a 12 month maternity cover in the Environmental Monitoring and Quality Control laboratory at the Jack Copland Centre. This laboratory provides a high quality analytical service to various SNBTS Departments at the Jack Copland Centre and other sites. The post holder would be involved in a competent analytical service to permit the monitoring of the quality, purity, sterility, stability of blood and tissue components in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) using a wide range of complex analytical, microbiological and chemical techniques.  The position would be part of a small dynamic laboratory team.

Applications are invited from individuals who have experience of the operation of an effective Environmental Monitoring or Quality Control laboratory function in a pharmaceutical environment or similar. Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. biological science).
