An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to work as a member of the Infection Prevention and Control Team in the delivery of the planned programme for prevention and control of infection across NHS Fife as well as continuing to respond to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Infection Prevention and Control is both extremely challenging and hugely rewarding as a specialty and needs transformational leaders with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. You will deliver specialist knowledge and training in all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control and provide clinical leadership to the Infection Prevention and Control Nurses and Surveillance Team. The role will require highly developed communication and leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare workers throughout the organisation to; develop policy and protocols, provide advice, give assurance and monitor infection prevention and control practice.

You will be a strong, visible clinical leader and will work with the Infection Control Manager in both the operational management of the infection prevention and control team, the delivery of assurance, quality improvement and transformation of service.

You will ensure legislation, national/local policy and guidelines in relation to Infection Prevention and Control are in place and effective. You will contribute to the development of our vision and rise positively to the opportunities the future will hold.

You are required to be an Adult Registered Nurse, with current NMC Registration, hold a recognised qualification in infection prevention (BN or MSc) and have studies to masters level; a broad range of clinical experience is desirable, with significant clinical practice in the field of Infection Prevention and Control.

One of the main qualities for this post is the ability to work as part of a team in a challenging health care setting. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. You should also be able to demonstrate continuing professional development and evidence of post registration qualification / study. This is a permanent full time post worked Monday to Friday. You will be required to travel between NHS Fife sites.
