The West of Scotland Clinical Genetics Service is seeking an replacement Consultant Clinical Geneticist. You will join an established consultant team who provide a regional service to the West of Scotland. The post is a general genetics post with the possibility of further development of a specialist interest. This is a permanent 10 PA post, but we would consider a short term contract if desired by the applicant. Based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus (QEUH) in Glasgow, in the new purpose built Laboratories Medicine building, the clinical service is adjacent to the West of Scotland Laboratory Genetics Service who has outstanding facilities for cytogenetics, prenatal diagnosis, molecular genetics and molecular pathology. The unit is closely associated with the University of Glasgow Medical School and you will work in a progressive environment where research and audit are actively encouraged.

Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council and a licence to practise. Candidates also require to be entered in the specialist register for Clinical Genetics or be within 6 months of confirmed entry date into the specialist register from date of Interview. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry date into the specialist register from date of Interview. If trained outside the UK, need eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry date into the specialist register from date of Interview.
