NHS Dumfries & Galloway’s Primary Care Mental Health Service is pleased to offer the exciting opportunity for recruitment of two Community Mental Health Nurses. (Part time hours can be considered).
These posts will be based within the Dumfries and Annandale & Eskdale locality; post holders may be required to support other localities and provide some remote cross cover.
Post holders will be aligned to the locality Community Mental Health Team, but will be based within GP practices supporting Primary Care in the provision of early assessment and interventions for people with mild-moderate mental health issues.
Duties will include supporting GP practices with triage, completion of mental health assessments, delivery of brief therapeutic interventions and close partnership working with Primary Care, Community Link Workers, Social Services, Secondary Care Mental Health Services and Third Sector Agencies.
Post holders will work in partnership with patients/carers and will be expected to have good knowledge of local mental health support services. These posts require candidates who can work in a fast paced environment and be able to manage time effectively. Flexibility, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills are essential. Relevant experience of working in Community Mental health is desirable but not essential.
