Sexual Health D&G is an innovative and expanding service within NHS D&G. To allow us to continue improving our service we are advertising for a Band 5 Health Improvement Officer.
This post is key to raising awareness of positive sexual health and wellbeing with the public and with generic service providers / stakeholders with a view to improving sexual health and wellbeing, access to information and sexual health interventions across the Dumfries and Galloway.
The postholder will be line managed by the Lead Nurse, Sexual Health D&G, with professional supervision by a Health and Wellbeing Specialist, Public Health. If not already a registered Practitioner with UKPHR, there will be the opportunity to work towards this.
Based in Dumfries the postholder will be expected to continue current, and establish new initiatives and partnerships within the statutory and third sectors. They will be involved in the local implementation of the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Framework and the Pregnancy, Parenthood and Young Person’s Strategy.
The successful applicant will require: -
- Excellent communications skills for networking and training
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills
- Accomplished IT skills
- A non judgemental attitude
- Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends as required
