This is an exciting new opportunity and permanent post, in a new designated multi-disciplinary and multi-agency Infant Mental Health (IMH) Team in the process of being set up. The Lead for the new IMH Team and service is the Head of Child Psychotherapy.

 
This full-time permanent post is suitable for an experienced Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with particular experience and interest in working with infants and their parents. A primary task will be infant mental health assessments, and the delivery of parent–infant psychotherapy; other aspects include joint-working with other team members to provide consultation and work with the network, contributing to the delivery of IMH training to other professions and agencies, and promoting professional awareness and understanding of infant mental health.


The new IMH Team in NHS Lanarkshire will be part of the NHS Lanarkshire Perinatal and Infant Mental Health work stream, with links to CAMHS and other NHSL teams. The post-holder will be one of a group of Child Psychotherapists working across different clinical teams in NHS Lanarkshire, and will join the weekly Child Psychotherapist Team meetings and peer supervision.


Applicants must have qualified as a Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with a Child Psychotherapy Training School approved by the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
