Job Advert

This post is a 2 Year Fixed Term / Secondment position.

As a vital part of NHSScotland, NHS National Services Scotland’s mission is to enable and support the delivery of better health and better care, working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.

The CHI & Child Health Transformation Programme exists to provide:
•    a new Community Health Index (CHI);
•    a new GP Patient Registration System (GPPRS);
•    a new Child Health system known as Scottish Child Public Health and Wellbeing
•    System (SCPHWS); and
•    a new National Integration Platform.

Implementation of these new strategic national solutions will enable a beneficial change in the functionality and the business practices which underpin Health and Social Care Delivery in Scotland.In order to deliver the new Child Health system, a requirement has arisen against a new role of Data Quality Assurance Analyst.

The job purpose (extracted from the Job Description) is

To manage the identification and amendment/correction of significant “blocker” data anomalies, affecting patient records held within the current child health administration systems regarding the call and recall for a child for the whole of NHS Scotland.
This role requires highly complex analysis and problem solving and extensive knowledge of the national CHI and Child Health Systems and processes listed below:
•    Scottish Immunisation Recall System (SIRS)
•    Child Health Surveillance Programme – Pre-School (CHSP-PS)
•    Child Health Surveillance Programme – School (CHSP-School)
•    Universal New-born Hearing Screening
•    Hepatitis B Immunisation System (HepB)
•    Pre-School Vision Screening
•    Pregnancy and New-born Screening.

An example issue is where a patient has multiple active records on the Child Health systems. The postholder would analyse all Child Health data from that patient to determine, via the patient journey, which parts of data are accurate. The records would then need to be amended including moving immunisations & screening results as required to a single patient record. The postholder shall have Caldicott guardian approval to access the records of all residents of all Boards. The postholder, working in a highly autonomous way, is responsible for ensuring all amendments are audited and accounted for and communicating this information to the nominated Board Leads across Scotland.

Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
