Job Advert

We are recruiting for a Director of Procurement, Commissioning and Facilities for NHS National Services Scotland.

NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) is a Non-Departmental Public Body at the heart of the health service providing a range of national, specialist and shared infrastructure services and solutions to NHS Scotland boards and to some wider public sector organisations. Accountable to the Scottish Government, NSS is integral to the delivery of health and care services in Scotland – locally, regionally and nationally.

Our aim is to ensure NSS is integral to a world-leading health and care service by enabling health and care transformation, assisting other organisations involved in health and care, and continuing to underpin NHS Scotland with excellent support services.

The Director of Procurement, Commissioning and Facilities will provide strategic leadership and direction to the planning, management and delivery of a range of highly specialist National Services to NHS Scotland and Health and Social Care providers which support the delivery of safe and
effective patient care, value for money and a safe and effective operating environment.

As a member of the Executive Management Team you will fully contribute to and participate in the corporate management and governance of NSS.

We are looking for an experienced and pro-active leader to play a key role in enabling NSS’s future. Your strong strategic procurement and or commissioning experience will drive and assure the provision of services to meet the increasingly challenging needs of NSS and the wider NSS customer base.

You should have extensive leadership ability at a senior/executive level in a multidisciplinary environment over a number of years. This should include experience of working in an organisation of considerable scale and complexity.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. A post-graduate qualification would be desirable. You should be able to provide evidence of continuing professional/personal development, including management and leadership development.

In return, you will receive a competitive remuneration package and the satisfaction of knowing that your success contributes to better health and better care for more than 5 million people in Scotland.

For an informal discussion please contact Colin Sinclair on Colin.Sinclair@nhs.scot or Mary Morgan on mary.morgan@nhs.scot

Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.

Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Closing date for completed applications is 31st January 2021
