As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services.  Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Laboratories in Inverness for a BMS 2 position, and applications are invited from suitably qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists demonstrating continual professional development.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal skills with responsibilities to supervise and manage the day-to-day activities, while supporting the Clinical Lab Manager to maintain and develop the Clinical Services Laboratories.

Applicants for the post must have attained an Honours Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent, acceptable to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and retain registration with that body.  A BMS2 should have further qualifications, eg. MSc level or significant demonstrable experience in a relevant field of work.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Candidates must have current HCPC registration at the time of applying.
