Receptionist / Clerical Assistant (Band 2)
Full time and part time positions available
NHS Lothian is host to a unique South East Scotland regional collaborative delivering a specialist forensic medical and nurse led police custody healthcare service. The post of Receptionist / Clerical Assistant in forensic medicine is a new and exciting opportunity for resilient, compassionate and trauma informed administration staff to join a well-established team of forensic nurses and physicians. We are seeking highly motivated and experienced reception / clerical staff who will embrace the challenge of this dynamic role. Applicants should possess the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, work across professional boundaries and be flexible in an extremely busy and atypical health environment. The service operates 24/7 and the post holder will work rotate between day and night duties.
The Receptionist / Clerical Assistant will be expected to assist and support the wider multi-disciplinary team. This new role is the collaboratives response to the Scottish Government Task Force for the Improvement of Services for Victims of Rape and Sexual Assault and therefore is subject to a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010. The post is gender specific to female applicants.
In additional to PVG checks, the post holder will further require to be vetted to Level 2 by Police Scotland which has a requirement that the post holder has been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
