NSS is the leading provider of BI and advanced analytics within the public sector in Scotland.  Established in 2000, the Business Intelligence and Analytics service is a dedicated team of BI professionals that designs, develops and supports an integrated data platform for NHSScotland which underpins Scotland’s reputation as a world leader in health informatics.  Following a change in legislation in 2014, NSS now offers BI services across the public sector.

Due to the increasing demand for Business Intelligence and analytical services, and the rapid expansion in data science and advanced analytics technologies and capabilities, we are looking for 3 experienced and enthusiastic BI and advanced analytics professionals to join our team.
The typical responsibilities will include
•    Technical analysis
•    Design of and build of data platforms (including physical and virtual)
•    Design and build of complex data processing and data wrangling routines
•    Design and build of innovative BI and analytical solutions
•    Evaluation, implementation and support of BI and data science platforms used across the public sector
•    Support of external development teams through the design and delivery of enablement activities
•    BI Consultancy
Current leading edge technologies include Oracle Exadata and Denodo data virtualisation, Tableau visual analytics and Business Objects reporting. During this financial year, the BI and analytics team will be evaluating and implementing platforms to manage big and unstructured data, and to support the AI and machine learning life cycle.
Services provided by the BI and Analytics team include consultancy, development and support of innovative BI solutions, and BI platforms as a service (PaaS).  PaaS users are fully supported, through our Centres of Excellence, to ensure maximum benefit is achieved from these platforms.
A degree, or equivalent, is required plus significant experience in the delivery of enterprise-wide BI and analytical solutions.  Successful candidates will be strong communicators, with an enthusiastic, proactive attitude.
Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
