PRIMARY CARE SERVICES
ARE SEEKING TO APPOINT A SALARIED GENERAL PRACTITIONER TO PROVIDE A FULL RANGE OF GENERAL MEDICAL SERVICES TO
MARYFIELD MEDICAL CENTRE

Salary: £61,346- £91,564 pro-rata (dependent on skills and experience)

NHS Tayside are seeking a committed, innovative, enthusiastic and forward thinking General Practitioner to join the team at Maryfield Medical Centre. As a 2C (Health Board-run) practice we offer our team the opportunity to grow in their profession without the additional responsibilities attached to partnership working. We offer flexible working hours and promote a healthy work-life balance for all our team members

Our GPs benefit from 10% CPD time and generous Study Leave in addition to this – up to 30 days over a 3 year period with approved funding of up to £3000 to cover course fees and expenses

The Practice in Maryfield creates an opportunity for the Health Board, in conjunction with Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership, to sponsor and help develop new paradigms of care for the community. Our ambition is to become the ‘model’ 2C practice – one to which other practices aspire to. We have close links with the GP IT facilitators and have an in-house IT specialist. You will be an integral part of an extended Primary Care Team who together will work to improve the health and specific needs of the registered population

Maryfield is situated in the Stobswell area of Dundee and is adjacent to Maryfield House and the DISC Sports Centre. We have a list size of approximately 6600 patients with a mixed demographic and a broad range of health issues. We can guarantee that no two days will be the same

Our current clinical staffing consists of 4 full-time GPs and 4 part-time (6.4 WTE). We also have a trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner who will complete her training early 2021

Our Practice Nursing team are committed to providing holistic care and specialise in chronic disease management. All practice-based diabetic care is provided by our Lead Practice Nurse, who is also a Non-Medical Prescriber

We have a highly skilled Administrative team who are trained in workflow optimisation and clinical summarising. We also take advantage of technology such as iGPR medical reporting – releasing a huge administrative burden from the GPs

Our friendly and welcoming team, both clinical and administrative, meet regularly to collaborate on practice improvements and projects, as well as arranging regular social events. Wellbeing is of vital importance to us and we can promise you a supportive and happy working environment

We are very fortunate to work from a purpose-built facility with bright, spacious consulting rooms, meeting facilities and staff areas.  Our building also houses the Community Nursing team and Health Visitors which enables a true multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.

We have a regular cohort of GPs who share the vision of the practice moving  forward in line the new GP Contract. This is an exciting time for the practice and we welcome practitioners who share our vision and enthusiasm

The post will ideally suit trained primary care physicians who are attracted to work in an environment of development with other like minded professionals and whose focus is on the delivery of high quality clinical care. The Doctors in the team will be expected to contribute to service and strategic improvement with colleagues inside the practice and with associated locality services
Please contact Dr David Shaw, Clinical Director, Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership (David.Shaw@nhs.scot) if you would like an informal discussion or further information

Closing Date 31 March 2021 for applications, however, we are looking to appoint to the post at the earliest opportunity and therefore encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible with a view to fast tracking applications and arranging interviews as they are received
